This is to inform to you that I have evaluated Mr. Sezar Ercan's application for the research assistanship position available in our group.

As a result of this evaluation, I am pleased to inform you that I am awarding Mr. Ercan a research assistanship starting June 23, 2003, and extending for one year, until June 30, 2004.

Mr. Ercan will assist our group in performing research related to hydrologic engineering, GIS, visualization, virtual reality, and web-based applications in relation to two projects currently ongoing in our lab: (1) the Arroyo Alamar hydroecology and sustainable architecture, and (2) the Arroyo Guadalupe sand hydrodynamics. Mr. Ercan will be paid U.S. $1250 a month, for up to 40 hours of work per week, and will be expected to participate in laboratory and field research, as well as in training, in both teaching and research capacities.
