HOW DO I EXPECT MY EDUCATION AT THE ART INSTITUTE OF CALIFORNIA - SAN DIEGO
TO HELP ME ATTAIN MY CAREER GOALS?
My major of interest is Web Design and Interactive Media. My career goals
are both short-termed and long-termed.
My short-term goal is to be employed
as a web media designer for a medium to large communications company.
After a few years in this capacity, I plan to develop my own consulting firm.
I strongly believe that the intelligent video,
which combines video, voice, graphics, text, music and animation into one significantly seamless product
is rapidly becoming the preeminent tool for learning and communications in our society.
I believe that the reason why most people prefer a combination of vector and raster data is
because they have a chance to use both sides of their brain.
I also believe that the web is the most marvelous development in humankind's experience,
and that it will get better and more pervasive with time.
It is already doing so now, as we speak. This realization is what has compelled me to become a part of this story.
I plan to work first as part of a small group,
in partnership with other associates with similar interests.
In time, my goal is to lead a group of specialized
webmedia professionals to improve all kinds of web media communications.
I believe I can successfully combine my previous background and education as a computer
engineer trained in Mexico City, with my recent training and education in art design at San Diego Mesa College.
I know I would thrive in an environment that encourages creativity
and professionalism in the area of web design and interactive media.
This is definitely one career path where I would effectively use both sides of my brain!
The program of study at the Art Institute of California - San Diego is
ideally suited to my career plans. The size of the college is particularly
attractive to me, while the specialized attention should be a decided asset of my overall experience.
I have learned through my contacts that the Institute's staff are
professional people who practice what they teach. This is the group I want to be involved with.
I want to be able to "hit the ground running" when I graduate,
and to hold a job for good and continue to grow in a professional environment.
I enjoy learning, being artistically and technically challenged, and becoming more
knowledgeable and useful to myself and others with time.
My educational experience at the Art Institute
should help me carve my own niche in the field of interactive web media design.
I can't wait to get started. When do classes start?
