Dear Dr. Kumar:

It is my pleasure to invite you for a study leave at the Visualab, at San Diego State University, under my supervision, for a period of one year, starting on or about June 1, 2004.

You will be working on a project entitled: "Hydrology and Hydraulics for the Tecate Creek Corridor Restoration." The work will involve watershed modeling, with specific emphasis on GIS, computer modelling, and groundwater replenishment by channel transmission losses. This project will continue your work on watershed modelling that you performed while at SDSU on a previous visit (Fall 1997).

The Visualab is a state-of-the-art facility featuring six SUN servers and one SGI server. It is dedicated to web-based engineering research and practice, with focus on hydrology and hydrogeology. Please visit http://visualab.sdsu.edu for more details on our facility.

Sincerely yours,

Victor M. Ponce
Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering
