GRADING POLICY

Midterm (30%); Term Paper (30%); Final Exam (40%).

Attendance and class participation will earn a bonus of 1/3 letter grade (Example: B+ raised to A-).

TERM PAPER

Term paper should be typed, use an appropriate writing style, and have the correct grammar and spelling.

Term paper should be double spaced; stapled, not bound; start on first page.

Term paper will have five labeled parts: (1) Introduction, (2) Background, (3) Analysis, (4) Discussion, (5) Conclusions.

Deadline No. 1. Students should submit three choices for topics (first, second, and third choice) on the 6th week (130225 - 130227) at 1100.

Topics will be assigned on the 7th week (130304 - 130306) at 1100.

Deadline No. 2. Topic summary (200-words long) is due on the 11th week (130408 - 130410) at 1100.

Term paper must have a length of five (5) pages, but references may be on page 6.

Deadline No. 3. The term paper is due on the 15th week (130506 - 130508) at 1100.

Missing one deadline will incur a penalty of 1/3 of the grade.
