SEDIMENTATION AND RIVER ENGINEERING
FALL 2020
HOMEWORK No. 2: SEDIMENT PRODUCTION AND YIELD
- Using ONLINE_LANE_KOELZER, calculate the specific weight
of a sediment deposit in a reservoir after an elapsed time of 50 years, with the sediment always submerged.
Assume the following grain size distribution: sand, 30%, silt, 40%, clay, 30%. Use both SI and U.S. Customary units.
- Using ONLINE_USLE2, calculate the watershed soil loss
for the same data as Example 15.3 in the textbook.
However, use Marshall silt loam in all
subwatersheds.
- Using ONLINE_DENDY_BOLTON, calculate the sediment yield for a 98.5-mi2
watershed with 4.2 in of mean annual runoff.
