HOMEWORK 1: WATER BALANCE
- The following precipitation-runoff-baseflow data P-R-U (cm)
has been obtained for the Sarada River Basin, in India.
Year | P | R | U

| 1982 | 101.6 | 14.1 | 4.5
| 1983 | 125.1 | 37.7 | 11.1
| 1984 | 77.0 | 7.1 | 2.1

Use the methodology described in Ponce and Shetty (1995) to obtain
the parameters of the conceptual water balance model, i.e., to calculate:
- the surface-runoff initial-abstraction ratio λs and the wetting potential Wp, and
- the baseflow initial-abstraction ratio λu and the vaporization potential Vp.
- Use these parameters to calculate predicted values for surface runoff (S')
and baseflow (U'). Compare these values with the measured values of S and U.
